Question

My printer (deskjet 932C)is acting out again. It doesn't print what is selected. It only prints jibberish across the top of the page and continues until all the paper is gone. It's done this before with my old computer and usually unplugging or deleting and reinstalling takes care of the problem but not this time. I do have a new computer with Windows XP and it was working well last week before I left on vacation. I did notice all three lights rapidly flickering a couple of times. Do you think it's dying or is there still hope? Thanks for any help you have to offer.

Answer

Unfortunately it doesn't sound good. Often this type of issues is caused by a miscommunication between the computer and the printer. First, I would suggest you try updating the drivers, it's possible that they could have become corrupted. You can find Hewlett Packard's as well as other printer drivers and software links through the below link.

If this does not work its very likely it's a hardware issue. Although it's likely the printer causing the issue it could also be the printer cable. If you have access to another cable you may want to replace the cable to make sure it is not at fault.

If this doesn't work it's likely a printer defect and we suggest you contact HP for a replacement.
