Question

My harddisk crashed and only way of recovering the data is through command prompt.Actually there are a lot of directories on my hardisk and i would like to know can i copy dircctories content i.e.files and subsequent directories in main directory in one go or do i have to open each directory and then copy all its files.
Any switch are there please let me know

You can recover and backup files from the MS-DOS prompt. However you're going to need to know about MS-DOS commands as well as how to navigate through MS-DOS. Regarding your question about copying directories. Depending upon the size of these directories may change how you copy the files.

If however the directory is several megabytes it will not fit on a floppy diskette. Therefore you would need to compress the files.
