Founded in 1983, Cabletron Systems was a manufacturer of computer networking equipment. Today, the company has been reorganized as a holding company who controlls four networking Firms. These firms include Enterasys Networks, Riverstone NEtworks, Aprisma Management Technologies, and Global Network Technology Services (GNTS).

August 6, 2001 - Cabletron Systems completes its transformation into two independent companies Enterasys and Riverstone. As a result of these events, Cabletron Systems ceased to exist as a separate company.
