ok, I think I have a virus on my computer but unfortunately I cant properly turn it on, as soon as it gets so far in loading up, it restarts itself. Safe mode doesnt workbut I can get into the computer help menu bit. Is there anythig I can do or is it too late for my computer If any1 can help at all I'd be really grateful

chelc......I'm guessing you didnt have a up to date virus scanner installed........If you cant start it up in safe mode.......you may have to consider doing a format and start with a clean slate......oops I mean hard drive . But ......I would get some other opinions before that. BTW ...what operating system is (was ) on that machine ? let us know

ok my PC was windows ME but it started to freeze a lot and turn programs off so I upgraded it to Win 2000. Now, when I turn on my PC and it gets to the screen which says Windows 2000 it restarts. Ive tried to reboot but when I use the disks (both ME and 2000) as soon as I get into deleting the partition it restarts again. Safe mode doesnt work and scandisk picks up nothing. I have no idea what to do.
