Links won't open/new window

  First of all, I am running Windows 98 and IE 6.

     Recently, I have been unable to open certain links that require a new window. When I click on these links, my computer temporarily freezes up. There is no error message it just freezes and doesn't open.  I have tried to right-click and open in a new window and that doesn't seem to work either. Most of these links are javascript which might have something to do with it. I have tried re-installing IE 6 and running the repair tool.

I have no idea where to go from here. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Have you scanned for viruses and Spyware? Have you been keeping-up with Windows Updates?

I have the same problem but on Win XP, SP 2, IE 6.0 (Update Versions SP2), am scanning my computer regularly - no viruses and am keeping my Windows up to date.

I noticed that java applets are not loading, some button links are not loading, open in new window doesn't work etc.

Your help here would be much appreciated

6. Reset all security zones to Default

And/or

5. Advanced
6. Restore Defaults button.

You may need to do the following as well

6. Remove cookies, temporary files and history
