Remember to only install one antivirus! 1) Avast! Home Edition2) AVG Free Edition3) Avira AntiVir Personal4) Microsoft Security Essentials for Windows Vista\Windows 7 - 64 bit Download4-a) Microsoft Security Essentials for Windows XP5) Comodo Antivirus (Uncheck during installation "Install Comodo SafeSurf..", Make Comodo my default search provider" and "Make Comodo Search my homepage" if you choose this one) 6) PC Tools AntiVirus Free EditionIt is strongly recommended that you run only one antivirus program at a time. Having more than one antivirus program active in memory uses additional resources and can result in program conflicts and false virus alerts. If you choose to install more than one antivirus program on your computer, then only one of them should be active in memory at a time.

Some ISP providers now provide free security suites call and ask your internet tech support if they do. Might be a good place to start for an all around free one until you decide.

Go for the best only:-
1) Bitdefender 2) Kaspersky
P.S. You might have to pay for them...after their 30 day trial

why would you pay for one when there are better or similar free ones out there avast I'm with you But if you use the computer is not connected with the Internet. And get updates by another computer. I advise you to use Avira AntiVir Personal - Free because you can get updates periodically. And a short time interval. It also has a large database
