Do you have a backup?
Product key for for MS products is not on the CD. It is inside an installed copy of the software. It was on the original package or or box. The user puts it in at install time.
You can retire it from a backup that had been made of the entire system.

Not necessarily, alot of things get packaged differently for different countries. My Office 2007 had the product key printed on the front of the CD itself.

(I remember, quite clearly, opening the case, putting the CD in the drive and looking everywhere on the CD case for the product key. Plenty of head scrathing, then had a 'DOH' moment when i took the CD out of the drive, to take it back to the shop, and put it in the case, only to have the 'key' staring at me from the front of the CD)

I'm pretty sure when Geek says it's "not on the CD" he means that the content of the CD has nothing to do with the product key. Some people seem to get it in their heads that for every CD that MS sends out there is only one product key that works, but that isn't the case.

Try looking for unattended text file on the cd when open look 2/3rd down you will find your cd key
Best way to look for unattended.txt is press letter U on your keyboard til you find this file.
