Hi all,

I need to install drivers that will emulate a sound card on a virtual Windows Server 2008 R2. Can anyone point me in the right direction for something I could use? I have tried VACARD09 which worked with my XP machine, but wont work on this OS.

I dont actually need sound, just to emulate a sound card to run some streaming software from it.

Thanks in advance.

Ironically, I have made RDP sound work, but when I log out, it stops the driver, which strops the streaming! Is there any way I can just keep it working when I log out of the remote desktop session? There MUST be a solutions for this?!

I ran into the same problem and ended up just finding a sound card that has support for server OSes. I think we're using the Creative X-Fi usb right now.

Hi Michael, thanks for your reply. But my machine is a virtual server, I have no physical access to it.

Oh, Sorry.... I missed the virtual part.... :-[
I just did a search for "virtual sound cards" and there were a few websites that look like they may be what you're looking for.
Here's the first one on the list: www.e2esoft.cn/vsc/
