There are lots of free MMO and MMORPG games out there that are free. Some though you will have to spend money though to get certain things. That is how they make their money. Expect a download of 1GB to 8GB in size to install the game. Lord of the Rings is about 8GB after patches.

There are many free games at gpotato.com and Lord of the Rings is Free to play, but you have to pay to have a mount if you dont want to run everywhere on foot of have to pay to travel from city to city on horses that act like flight points in World of Warcraft.

I am unfamiliar with the worms game. But the name of it brings back memories of Worm War 1 for Atari2600 many many years ago when I was a kid.

Make sure these websites are reputable and you have an update antivirus system installed. You don't want to download malicious software that claim to be computer games.

Also to mention is that for free online games that require registration, I use a junk mailbox to register, and for each game I have a different password to logon, and I keep a password listing for all my games in a small notebook. This is best for any type of online registration is to change it up. Also I love how these registrations ask for you to enter password reset security info like maiden name, friends, pet names, etc that are also used for online banking. "Do you trust giving out that information with those sites???? I DONT and so I give bogus info to make the script happy to register."   2 people I know have gotten hacked by using the same info between multiple sites. Some hackers plant sites out there looking for people to register and then they use those credentials against a list of sites like banks, credit cards, e-mail accounts, etc

There are loads of games online that aren't browser games (more MMOGs or client games) that you need a download of an installation for. I would suggest Super Hero Squad Online or Fortune Online, both client-based and good fun!

I'd recommend Nexon's "Combat Arms".  It's basically Cal of Duty Modern Warfare 2 with better guns, graphics, and gore.  It's free, you just need to make a free account with nexon.  Check me out, I'm "TheHives5"

I played Combat Arms for a while but it had to many cheaters on it so I gave up. Which is a shame because it was fun while it lasted.

Hey!

There are a lot of great client-based games available that aren't like browser games at all (high-end graphics, 3D etc.) that are still free - my favourite would be Super Hero Squad Online (based on the marvel comics...) but there are endless, like mentioned above, a lot of RPGs!

I love with games

« Reply #16 on: October 14, 2011, 12:39:10 PM »

There needs to be a Magic the Gathering version of this, because Im not paying for cards using the offical computer game. I would also enjoy Lord of the Rings, Star Trek, and Pokemon (all games I used to play, but I only play Magic now).

Magic Workstation. I use it to play online and prototype my decks.
Thanks. Just the thing that Ive been looking for.
Edit: So do you have to pay $20? I guess its better then having to buy all of the cards with Wizard's game.

No, you don't need to pay to use it.

Addicted to online games

Perfect World intl,  Jade Dynasty and Dungeaons and Dragons :P  but u got to be a pretty hard core gamer for these games. Lvling appears easy in the beginning but gets challenging. The community is a nice one. The games give u a way to have the best gear like the paying players, but u got to work hard as *censored*.

I wondered if online slots could be considered for this category? If yes, I could suggest my website http://www.freeslots.asia/ where you can find many free slots  following various themes.

There's a lot of sites that recommend good games for you. Jayisgames.com is a great site that does recommendations, you just need to filter by free games. Kongregate, Armor Games, and Miniclips also have a large library of free games in a lot of different categories. :)

There are a lot of games in the google web store, you need to run google chrome though https://chrome.google.com/webstore/category/home?utm_source=chrome-ntp-icon

Which is one of the silliest things about Chrome, considering most of the games they list are just links to game websites, nothing specific to Chrome. You don't even need Chrome to play those games. It just links you to sites like Zynga and OMGPOP or to a game's own website.

Following that link in any other browser, you can still view the Chrome store and look at the screenshots and info on those games. Then you can just search for the game's website through the search engine of your choice if you don't want to have to install Chrome.
