When I go to open the DOS Command window it flashes for a second on the screen and then goes away. How to I get it to stay open?

Does it do it in safe mode? what happens if you type in the run box command

I was going to the Start/Run buttons and it won't stay open. If I go All Programs/accessories/command prompt it stays open OK> Still don't know why I can't do it the first way anymore.

Are you trying to run COMMAND or CMD?
Check the properties (path) of the one that works.

Blookah...... If your using XP .......... click start then run and in the run box ........simply type cmd followed by enter and the black box will be there with the command prompt

You might want to do a windows search for command.* and cmd.* and let us know what you find.
