The only thing Mozilla is not capable of is ActiveX.

No website requires ActiveX to log in. Unless you are visiting pornographic websites, which may require you to install dialers?

To Firefox's defense, I have used it for over a year now and I have found no problems logging in to any site. You must be blocking cookies or have Javascript disabled.

Have you scanned for Viruses, Trojan Horses and spyware?

A long shot, but you may want to try the following:

1. Start
2. Settings
3. Control Panel
4. Internet Options
5. Security tab
6. Reset all security zones to Default

And/or

1. Start
2. Settings
3. Control Panel
4. Internet Options
5. Advanced
6. Restore Defaults button.

You may need to do the following as well

1. Start
2. Settings
3. Control Panel
4. Internet Options
5. General tab
6. Remove cookies, temporary files and history

Is your windows fully up to date?
Bad script on a page can also cause that error.

I do not think that is possible. Windows update relies on Internet Explorer.

You may be able to repair it, though.

How to repair Internet Explorer and Outlook Express in Windows XP.
