Had a quick look around and found nothing of much interest but may be you should 'contact' Facebook and ask them.
Really taking a stab in the dark here. But could there be any relevance as to whether you are accessing these sites via something (geography wise) that is not their Korean based services? truenorth
If you display the Language Bar at the top of your desktop, does it look like this?:With the Language Bar like that, I can type Korean in my browser, including facebook. Some random Korean characters typed from my keyboard: ㅇ시ㅣㅗㅅ대햐ㅗㅁ댜ㅐ;해돔핻;ㅁ. I've briefly used the Language Bar in Windows XP and just enabled it in Windows 7 after seeing this topic here. The Language Bar has always seemed like a very finicky, sensitive tool to use. Maybe it just takes some time to get familiar with it. One thing I've noticed is that moving from one application to another usually requires toggling the Han/Eng button to Korean when first attempting to type Korean in the latter application. Once you've typed Korean in a program window, leave that window, and then return to it, Windows usually remembers you were typing Korean there. Some references may help:http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/The-Language-bar-overviewhttp://office.microsoft.com/en-us/access-help/switch-between-different-languages-by-using-the-language-bar-HA010362283.aspx
If I want to type something in Korean on Facebook, I have to go through the process of typing it up on an Open Office document and copy/pasting it into Facebook.
I know that my other friends aren't having a problem typing in Korean on Facebook
I understand he stated that...but i havent seen proof...i don't do facebook and not about to start.
Sure sounds like a conflict somewhere or some selected/not selected parameter that is altering the process for the O/P. I reiterate that if not done Mulreay's suggestion should be explored for the possibility that facebook has encountered this and can resolve it.To that end and to hopefully get the access you need:http://www.marismith.com/how-contact-facebook-directory-of-forms/http://www.contacthelp.com/directory/Internet/Web+Sites/Facebook?ListingID=324truenorth
Frankly, I don't want to spend more time on this because there is not much more I can do to help. Have you tried doing an Internet search on installing language bar in windodws 7 or similar phrase? At least, you have a workable procedure and it's not too much of an extra burden, is it? By the way, any particular reason you're using Open Office for this? WordPad would work fine. Have you discussed this with your friends? Could you meet with a friend who has the Korean Language Bar installed and see how it's working on their computer? Perhaps that would shed some light on your problem.
Didn't mean to sound short on the issue...i just think something (probably very minor ) is being overlooked in this as it seems to work fine for others...Hope you find a quick...easy solution...
you are very welcome sorry that to this point we weren't able to resolve your issue.Good luck, truenorth
