I understand he stated that...but i havent seen proof...i don't do facebook and not about to start.
Sure sounds like a conflict somewhere or some selected/not selected parameter that is altering the process for the O/P. I reiterate that if not done Mulreay's suggestion should be explored for the possibility that facebook has encountered this and can resolve it.
To that end and to hopefully get the access you need:

Frankly, I don't want to spend more time on this because there is not much more I can do to help. Have you tried doing an Internet search on installing language bar in windodws 7 or similar phrase?
At least, you have a workable procedure and it's not too much of an extra burden, is it? By the way, any particular reason you're using Open Office for this? WordPad would work fine.
Have you discussed this with your friends? Could you meet with a friend who has the Korean Language Bar installed and see how it's working on their computer? Perhaps that would shed some light on your problem.
Of course, you don't have to spend more time on this, neither do you have to go as far as to make a Facebook account just to address this problem.
I'm already grateful for all the help (yes, I've looked up help on the Internet, and this was the best result), and I only bumped up the topic in hopes other people might have other ideas.
As it is now, it looks like I've hit a dead end, so I'll contact Facebook if I have the time.
The workaround is fine, but it's a much slower process (especially if you're trying to chat as opposed to just trying to post), and there's this frustrating factor to the fact that it isn't working as it should, lol.
And well, I've been using Open Office, because I actually wasn't aware I could use Word Pad... O_o
So I learned something new anyway, thank you. =)
And there's no need to go to a friend, because the desktop in this house types in Korean on Facebook just fine, and when I compare that to the workings of this laptop, I can't seem to find any difference.
But again, thanks.
