I uninstalled my fire fox browser and reinstalled and still no access to google even installed IE 7 no access to google.  I believe the problem is in the XP operating system somewhere.  I did try running without a fire wall and did not help, if there is something from preventing access to google in my computer how would you go about finding it?

I suggest you run the Fix it tool found at http://support.microsoft.com/kb/972034 to reset the Hosts file back to the default. This may not resolve the issue but it's worth a try.  Or, you can open the Hosts file with Notepad to view it and manually edit it, as explained at the above link.

No protection except what comes on the XP disk. I am going to try the fix it tool above mention.
I did put google ip address 74.125.236.81 and it takes you to there search page but when you go to bottom of page and click on home page you get nothing.
