Hello, I just installed a vid card on an XP rig and upon firing it on, I got a screen upon start up saying 'BIOS is not installed', then a screen referring to 'Serial _Ch0 & Ch1 Master:No Device', then a blue screen that reads a prob was detected and was shut down to prevent damage w/ MACHINE_CHECK_EXCEPTION as the cause. What is happening here? Below are the sequence of screenshots in which they appear.

Looks to me like there were a few cables wiggled themselves loose when the card was installed  ::)

Double check all Hard Disk Drive and CD Drive connections, and try again :)

It is probably talking about the RAID BIOS. Did you enter that and change settings?

Kurtiskain, I have checked all wires and connections and found every one to be secure.  Booted comp back up and same sequence of screens ensued.

Dexedcp1, according to the instructions that came with card, it reads to install card then do drivers.  I can't get beyond the blue screen to do drivers.

Raptor, I doubt it but how would I know if anything had been changed?

Maybe it is unrelated. Is Windows installed on a PATA or a SATA drive?

Raptor, yes Windows is installed on an IDE drive, it's an older rig.

Then it would seem like the BIOS not installed error is unrelated..

Have you diagnosed this hard drive to see if it's still in good working order?

Raptor, I have been able to boot in safe mode, which should tell me the hard drive is fine, right?

Not neccessarily...
DLoad and run the Free HDD diagnostics from the HDD manuf. site...
Post back with your results.
