I read the OP as saying he wants two or more user accounts and he wants different default browsers fort the accounts.
Yes, he can do that. The piratical limit is the different kinds of browsers available.
here is a abridged t list:
http://download.cnet.com/mac/browsers/most-popular/3101-2137_4-0.html
Mozilla Firefox
Google Chrome
Opera
Apple Safari
Netscape X
OmniWeb
Sunrise
...
That makes seven. Don't known why ignored SeaMonkey.

Also, even one browser will kept different favorites for each user anyway. Some browsers allow customization, which nalso can nbe different for each user.

Of course, you can't run two users are the same time with each his own keyboard. Doesn't work that way. No yet.
Oops. Yes, you can on a Mac.

That doesn't actually install different versions of IE on a computer.  Your reference is describing a way for web page developers to test their pages on different browsers without having all the browser versions installed on their computer.  The tool is called Browser Sandbox and it's online, not on the user's computer.

But, you have not addressed his question about using different versions of IE on the same computer.

I'm wondering why banditftw wants to do this.  Why not just use IE9?

Thanks for the responses ... I'm gonna try and see what happens The reason I want two versions of IE is I don't like IE9 and my other user(the boss--know what i mean) wants IE9 and two browsers is cheaper than two machines ???
       Thanks ;D

If you are using Windows 7 Pro or Ultimate run IE 8 inside XP Mode.
