free image editor

hello everybody, i have a MacPro but i am still learning to manage it. recently i want to edit some photos, but the PS Mac version is very expensive and also kind of complicated.. so what i want to ask is are there any free, totally free image editors for Mac? i dont need a very complicated and versatile one, just with those most popular and basic functions will be sufficient. thanks to all!

I dont have a Mac. You need to try a few till you found one you like, i can't tell you. It would be like telling you what my favourite food is and expecting you to like it. Everyone has different tastes.....Try a few !!

if you want a Photoshop alternative then go for GIMP, it's free!

Go for GIMP.  It's free and has an extensive range of features.  It's worth the extra time to learn.
