HELP!!!

i need help with my cd-rom drive itworked like 2 days ago but now it dosent! when i put any type of cd in it it says there is not one there even though i just put one in. do any of you know what i might do to fix it?

What have you done in order for this problem to occur?

the only things i did before it stoped working was i installed a spyware remover and ran a defragmenter

Are there any important files that may have been removed by the spyware scanner? Could you check either your log or your quarantine files?

• Have you checked cabling?
  
• Have you tested different CD-ROM players on your system?
  
• Have you tested the CD-ROM player in question on another system?

Breeanne.......What spyware software did you install?
Have you looked in your device manager to see if your cd - rom is disabled ?
Or ....do you mean that the cd drive doesnt show as having a cd in it ?
What operating system are you using ?
