windows 98se

  have probs with windows 98se cant use the control panle icons and cant start programs from the startup menu got to use the run command to run the programs any help would be great

restart pc hit the f8<safe mode> and chose start windows normally...does it still do it?or load the floppy A:\:> cd windows enter     C:\ scanreg/restore or scanreg/fix      <try using theses commands

hi thanks for the ideas to try but it did not fix the problimes

load your win98se disk...and browse it .in there should be a icon called setup click that ...this will re-install you system without losing any files.....if this fails to work somehow your reg has become corupt..

i tryed that to and a full in insall whould deleteing the partions and start with a blank drive help
