closing background tasks but everytime i try certain ones restart and once thats done and i try playin the game again it stil fresses etc

You have tried uninstallation and reinstallation as well right?

yup a few times and its rather annoying as theres alot of cd's to reinstal lol

Im not sure I understand the first part of your question. Let me just check:
Did you loose your CD code?

If you did, go to www.ea.com and select EA Support and sign in to EA Support and search for lost CD code under the topic of The sims. It will include information needed to get your CD code.
