I have a windows 95 computer and I'm trying to re-install windows. But when I put the disk in it stops responding after it says " cd rom found - loading drivers". I got a boot disk with a driver on it and tried that but it didn't work. Can I load the driver file onto my original factory restore disk? Just looking for a way to make my restore disk work I'm pulling my hair out. I know it's probably a simple thing to do but I'm not a professional computer expert. Can someone help me out here? I'd sincerely appreciate it.

Use a Windows 98SE OEM bootdisk from http://www.bootdisk.comWhy can't you install Windows 98, though? A big improvement over Windows 95.

Go to the below link to get a file that you double click and run to make a win95 floppy boot disk.When you boot with your bootdisk it will stop at the A: prompt.Type R: then enter this should access your CD. http://tapajo.unipar.br/~evaristo/discos%20de%20boot/boot95a.exe

ok. Thanks. everyone has told me to get a boot disk. Ok I did. In fact I tried every boot disk available or windows 95/98. Here's what happens when i use the disk. I get an error message that "command.com is corrupted or missing/ type the name of the interpreter". I tried but nothing happens. Now my next question is what options do i have now? My computer is a Packard Bell model M415 version 1.14. I have windows 95. The CD rom was replaced a few years ago. Recntly I used a "diskwash" program on it. I may have deleted some importnt files by accident. I have windows 95 installed on it now but I'm trying to re-install them. My problem is I can't.

If you have the original install disk but, don't have the original floppy disk try this generic one. You double click on this file and it makes a generic Packard Bell Boot floppy disk. You should boot with the floppy disk you make from this file and also have your restore disk in the CDROM.Download the file at below link. By the way .What did you send Raptor? :-? http://support.packardbell.com/uk/item/index.php?m=download&i=6760030000;DISK1_1.EXE;0;pi;

Well, I downloaded and ran a trial boot with it and it worked fine.The floppy booted and ended with a screen as follows. Please,insert The CD-Rom "Master CD1" Press any key To Continue. Did you use the file you downloaded to create a bootable floppy disk or, just copy it to a floppy disk?

Operator error. Frequently people make this a lot harder than it really is.
|
Please post as much information about your computer, operating system, and problem as possible, what happened prior to problems, etc. Too much info is OK, too little is pointless! Don't just say "My computer doesn't work. What's wrong?"
