I cleaned up my files  ??? and now I boot into safe mode alla the time,  and get a message that  a system file is missing,  and need to reload it,  but don't know how or where I can do this,  and tried to uninstall windows 98. and reinstall, but my cd rom driver is disabled in safe mode,  and don't know what to do,  thanks for help....

Susan, go to the website "PC World.com" and look for a thing called the Ultimate Boot Disk.  You can do this from a friends computer.  Shut the computer down, place the floppy in the drive, and re-boot. Your CD will have basic drivers needed to operate, and you can re-install windows.  You will need video drivers and several other drivers if you don't have the CD's for them you may find them at DriverGuide.com
