Can someone please tell me:

1. What kind of file is this (and where it comes from).

2. How can I replace this file.

I have done alot of searching and come up with very little. I have searched for the file on my hard drive, with no results. I have looked in my services, nothing there seemed related. Websites gave only clues, if that. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The PfModNT or PfModNT.sys is a file that is associated with your creative / SoundBlaster sound card. If you are getting an error with this file it is possible that your drivers for your sound card are corrupt or missing. We would recommend that if you wish to replace this file or update this file that you update your sound card drivers. A listing of sound card drivers can be found at the below link.
