Docking Station

I am having a problem getting a docked laptop to connect to the network. When the network cable is unplugged from the docking station and connected directly to the laptop, it is connected to the network. However, when I attach everything to the docking station it does not see the network. I'm not sure if there is a setting or something I need to check out. Let me know if anyone can help. Thanks!!!
