"Limited or No Connectivity"

Ok
So I wake up to find my computer full of viruses. I clear them out, restart, and when I log in, I get  a few errors which are the following; "failed to initialize IPC" "bladda bladda bladda has encountered a fatal eroor and cannot intiialzie yadda yadda" and "Windows Runtime C++ Error: Cannot initialize PCTAV.exe(PC Tools antivirus)"

After that, nothing is wrong exept that I can't connect to the internet.
I have "Limited or No Connectivity"

My computer is wireless. I am using a lynksys router off the computer I am currently on. Everything is working fine here, but when I try to "repair" the connection on my computer, it won't "renew the IP adress".


I'm really frustrated right now. Does anyone know what's wrong? Any and all help is greatly greatly appreciated.

First I'd say that we deal with the virus/nasties problem. If you could give info on what you're using for an Anti-virus, and other related programs that would help .

I'm using AVG Free Edition, Ad-Aware SE, adn Spyware S&D.

I tyink i got rid of everything that was wrong. My PF usage is back to what it normally is, if not better.

If you have limited or no connectivity, it could mean that your TCP/IP settings are incorrect.

Either that or the Windows installation is FUBAR.

See, while I had the nasties all in my system, my net was working a-OK.

I got rid of the nasties (at least I think) and I restarted my comp, but now it won't let me get onto my wireless conenction. Says it has "lmited or no connectivity". and when I try to repair the connection, it says it can't get past the IP renewing phase and what not. And now, on occosian, my computer will restart itself for no reason.

And I did dump PC tools, but I never got around to actually deleting all the startup crap it left

The software you use for your wireless connection may need to be reinstalled or perhaps just reconfigured. It should be loaded in your system tray or in the configuration menu under Network Settings.

You're right, I nearly forgot about my mind-reading abilities.

Really, you're going to have to tell me more than that. What kind of driver software is used? Windows Zero or manufacturer drivers? Is the network encrypted?

As your mind reading powers should have already told you...

1. Did you uninstall the offending virus scanner?
2. What other PC security is installed?
3. Did the mechanic who installed your home network leave any documents or notes? An SSID, shared key phrase, etc or can you find these in you router/ISP manual? They're important.
4. Go to start -> run and type cmd
- Type ping 192.168.1.1 and tell me if you get a time-out or a response. Repeat for 127.0.0.1,  204.228.150.3 and computerhope.com.

I would also like to add that my firewall/internet  conections ervice doesnt start up automatically.

Are there any devices that require attention under Device Manager? If not, I think you should rebuild your wireless network. Reset your router so that you can re-enter the security details required for a good wireless network and then reinstall the wireless networking software.

Well, you may be able to get them off the Internet again, but some documented information (such as the SSID and the shared key phrase) may be gone forever unless you reconfigure them.

if you given more then one or 3 line it will appear this same problems why im telling no .im also face same problems than i reduce the line now my line is ok now not coming like this error.
