how do i know if the graphics card needs replacing and
can i do it myself

I assume you currently have some kind of problem with a computer based on your question. If you describe the computer (the specs, or computer brand and model) and the problem you're having we can probably help you locate what's causing it.

Hi,
thanks for your reply. the computer is an emachines from bestbuy, but i have had to replace the motherboard already, and the monitor is also new *recently purchased and is an Acer. Best buys geek squad said something about the LCD, but I don't know what that is.

any help is appreciated.

The LCD is a type of screen.


You still haven't told us the nature of the problem you're experiencing so it's pretty hard to provide you with any sort of help.
