If you attempt to post your email address on the forums, a moderator might remove it. This is for two reasons:

1) Forums operate in a community. You publicly post your answer, they get publicly answered. This does two things: One, it helps people to collaborate while solving an answer, and two, it helps so that people with the same problem can search for it on the internet, and find the answer.

2) Leaving your email address as public may result in spam (sometimes in greater amounts that you probably want...). Illegal indexing "spiders" or "robots" scan websites in search of email addresses, and then they make a list of the addresses, and send spam emails to you.
