Strange MSN messages

I've recently been getting some strange MSN messages that seem like viruses/spyware. They are probably not coming from my computer, I've scanned with Kaspersky Internet Security and Ad-Aware. They found nothing. Just to make sure, I'm posting a HiJackThis log:

If you are getting a message similar to this:



Then do this:

1. Click on Start and click on Run
2. Type in "services.msc" without quotes and click OK.
3. In the list of services, scroll down to Messenger Service.
4. Double click on Messenger service and click on Stop.
5. Click OK and close the list of services.

Do NOT go to the links that the pop-ups tell you to go to.

No, thats not what I get. By messages I mean actual messages from people in conversations. I can't give and example due to the messages being....uh..........inappropriate.

Are they "instant messages" while using MSN, or...
BTW, have you ever used ShowDeskFix to fix "Show Desktop" icon?

Yep, I get the messages in MSN conversations. Never used ShowDeskFix....never even heard of it lol.

          o If there are several logs, click the current dated log and press View log. A text file will open in your default text editor.

8. Turn off System Restore:

- Windows XP:
   1. Click Start.
   2. Right-click the My Computer icon, and then click Properties.
   3. Click the System Restore tab.
   4. Check "Turn off System Restore".
   5. Click Apply.   
   6.  When turning off System Restore, the existing restore points will be deleted. Click Yes to do this.
   7. Click OK.
- Windows Vista:
   1. Click Start.
   2. Right-click the Computer icon, and then click Properties.
   3. Click on System Protection under the Tasks column on the left side
   4. Click on Continue on the "User Account Control" window that pops up
   5. Under the System Protection tab, find Available Disks
   6. Uncheck the box for any drive you wish to disable system restore on (in most cases, drive "C:")
   7. When turning off System Restore, the existing restore points will be deleted. Click "Turn System Restore Off" on the popup window to do this.
   8. Click OK

9. Restart in Normal Mode.

10. Turn System Restore on.

11. Run HijackThis again, and post back its log back here.

Did you by any chance play with "port forwarding"?

I tried to forward the ports on my router for µtorrent like half a year ago but for some reason that didn't work. I'll get rid of those, just in case.

or...try to hardwire your computer straight to the modem, and see, if those messages will keep coming.
But, try one solution at a time.

The messages only came from one person, and they seem to have stopped. I think it was something with their computer.

Must be some former girlfriend, who knew what ports you opened, while playing with port forwarding...LOOOOL
