The sad thing is, that after watching video like that, plus some other from restaurant kitchens, meat factories, you're almost ready to move to the farmland, and start making your own food.

I hear ya... you should see the way a lot of food is prepared here in Thailand. Being a Westerner, my body still hasn't adapted to the bacteria present in some of the foods here. I've had food poisoning more times than I can remember, and have been hospitalized from it 6 times in the 11 years I've lived in Thailand.

Really? My God!!!

Ok that is sooo gross!!! I am kind of a germ freak. NOT crazy germ freak, BUT I can't stand to see people do that.

When staying in a hotel.... I ALWAYS bring in my drink glass from McD or BK and use that for a few days, and every time I go out I bring another one back and keep it clean until the next day...ect. I hardly ever drink out of room glass cups or glasses. And I strip the bed and use my own linen and towels (did you know you can possibly get herpes, crabs, lice, and fungus form someone else's towel?!!!) 

OH yeah, and I hang my do not disturb sign on my door so they will not clean during the day. And then I go down in the evening (if I need to) and exchange MY own towels!! I have even offered to go to the laundry room myself and pick up my towels (if I forgot mine). They think I am being nice...I Am really being CAREFUL!!!

Also, when I was in the hospital, (I was really sick and the cleaning lady thought I was asleep, she cleaned my counter and MY bed railing with the exact same cloth she had just cleaned the bathroom with. AND THIS was in a hospital.

After she left I jumped out of bed and asked the nurse for a bottle of alcohol, she brought me one, asking why I needed it... I told her to clean my nasty room!!! I used my own bath cloth soaked in alcohol and cleaned my room while I had a fever!

Some people are soo NASTY!

There are some hospitals here that would make even the strong of heart shudder in terror. But those are the cheap/free hospitals and I never go to them.

Compared to US standards, any hospital or is cheap here, but most are pretty nice and up to Western standards.

hospital bathrooms.There was probably no need in using another cleaning
cloth..............

You've never seen my hospital bathroom after I've had food poisoning though 

Actually, most Thai hospitals, like I said, are really nice. They're incredibly clean, quiet, and comfortable. The Thai nurses have fantastic bedside manner and are really good at what they do.

However, Thai food preparation is a different story. This is what has put me in the hospital so many times here.
