Printer drivers

Does anyone know how to save a printer configuration in a file or something so that you can use that next time you install the printer?  For example you have a duplexer and its's now installed, but if you then install the printer again with the drivers you then need to configure the printer again.  I'm looking for something that will save your settings each time.
