I had the Norton anti-virus program about three years ago but didn't renew it. I removed it so I thought but problem started about two months ago and it's driving me crazy. If I have an email from someone and we reply back and forth several times I get this message and they do to. This message has been processed by Symantec's AntiVirus Technology. Unknown00000000.data was not scanned for viruses because too many nested levels of files were found. For more information on antivirus tips and technology, visit http://ses.symantec.com/There is an attachment and I have to open that up and reply to the person and when I reply it doesn't use my default email program. So I went into search and found 39 Symantec files and deleted them. I thought that would stop it but it didn't. So I did another search and found 47 Norton files and deleted them. I thought that would solve the problem but it didn't. I emailed Symantec and this is what they said. Thank you for contacting Symantec Global Enterprise Customer Care. You should not receive the message that you are getting unless a Symantec product is installed. Have you recently purchased a new computer that could have a trial version of our product? If you are still using the same computer that you removed the Norton AntiVirus program from, there may be some files left on the computer. If it was the Consumer product (Norton AntiVirus 2006, Norton Internet Security 2007 etc) the link below has a removal tool: Link Edit I ran the removal tool and it's still happening. I don't know what to do next. Help!!!!!

You have to remember, that you just ran CCleaner (your other thread), which might have solved your problem already, but just to make sure.... If you DO NOT any other Symantec products installed, this is what I'd do. Download, and install RegSeeker: http://www.snapfiles.com/get/regseeker.htmlOpen it. Make sure, there is a checkmark in Backup before deletion box in left lower corner (it's checked by default). Click on Find in registry, and put in search box: SymantecClick SearchDelete all found entries. Repeat search, this time for: NortonDelete all found entries, as well. Restart computer. Try your email.

That whole thing did not work for me. It found stuff but wanted me to purchase the program to fix it. I'll try it again. Maybe I clicked on the wrong thing.

A song just popped into my head for some reason:
The wheels on the bus go round and round, the wheels on the bus go round and round.
Just having some fun Broni! You are so patient and so cool!!! I just had to say something funny. That's just me.
I'm still not sure what to do. I'm trying to get someone to email me tonight to see if it's still happening but everyone is offline right now.

I did it again but please believe me there is nothing that says backup before deletion or find in registry. I did a print screen of what I have but I don't know how to post that here.

I think I need to take a break. This is driving me crazy right now. Thank you Broni. My computer is running to the max thanks to you. I'll check out my email problem tomorrow and if you don't mind I'll let you know what's going on with that. Maybe with all the things we did today that problem might be gone too!
You are fantastic!!!!

I'm trying to post my screen shot of the files I have from snapfiles and it's not working. I went to additional options...browse and clicked on my screen shot I wanted you to see and then clicked on post and nothing happened.

I downloaded it again but then I don't get that screen. It just places a folder somewhere that says regseeker. It's not working for me for some reason.

It just places a folder somewhere that says regseeker Where do you have that folder? Does it have RegSeeker.exe file in it? If so, double click on it.

I deleted 10 that had the word symantec in it but the other four doesn't say symantec but it must be safe to delete them because that's what I asked it to search for.

Everytime I run regseeker it finds those three symantec files. I delete them and the next time I run it they are there. I have turned off system restore and restarted my computer then run it again and those three are there. Has anyone else ever had this problem?

but the other four doesn't say symantec Are they the above registry entries, which won't go away? This message has been processed by Symantec's AntiVirus Technology. Unknown00000000.data was not scanned for viruses because too many nested levels of files were found. This message may be just included with the email of the person, who is sending back the message, or even ISP. Does your contact on the other end use Norton? Ask them, if the above signature is included in your FIRST mail to them.

This happens with two people that I email back and forth on a daily basis. Neither one of them have Norton or Symantec.
I deleted the four files that you asked about. When I did the search for Symantec they were amont the 18 files that I deleted. Then I did another search and then it found the other three which I can't seem to get rid of.

I got one answer so far. This is what she said:
It happens when you go to reply.
I think she means it's not in the first email it's when we reply.

I send an email to her, she replies and then when I reply to her this time is when it has that message. She can't even see my email. All she sees is that message.

Here we go again.
After downloading it asks for a registration code which will cost me $15.
I'm done tonight. I can't believe how much time I've spent on this problem. What is up with this? Night.

Well I lost all my Incredimail files. I had hundreds of them that I've been collecting over the years. Hard to explain if you don't have Incredimail. It's all messed up now. I have to see if I can retrieve them some how. What a nightmare this has been.

Well he checked everything in the system and couldn't find any symantec or norton. He copied and pasted the message that I'm getting into google and a bunch of things came up. Apparently I'm not the only one having this problem and there doesn't seem to be an answer yet. http://aumha.net/viewtopic.php?t=30518&sid=de0bce794175cdc6b515752baf6c653c He did say that everything looks really good and that my system is very happy!

I'm not going to worry about it anymore. When I start to get that message I'll just copy and paste into a new email and tell the other person to do the same thing. It's just an annoyance. Thanks for trying to help.
