Computer Hope MiniCity

Came across a MyMiniCity page and decided to create a  MiniCity for Computer Hope feel free to visit. Basically the concept of the site is with each unique visit the city grows (if population is clicked) or one of the other industries will increase if that link is clicked, e.g. clicking to add jobs will increase available jobs and decrease unemployment if any.

Each unique visit improves that aspect of the city. That's all there really is to it, the city grows with the visits the page receives through the link. Since it's not that big we just have the two links to build population and industry.

Should still be working, both links posted above work for me. It's a foreign (to United States) site, so a little slow at times. But just tried and worked for me in IE and Firefox.

Not that I'm advocating it but proxy servers work wonders.

Ya, I have those from time to time. My last good idea was back in High School when I made a program that would preserve the life of computer screens by displaying a moving image after a set amount of time and prevent burn-in. I called it the Screen Preserver. Unfortunately, I learned that the idea had already been implemented in 95% of the computers in the world. My good idea ended up being no idea at all.
I'll let you know when I have another idea.

hmm.... we should have a webpage that will reload each of the links randomly in an iframe every day. Just in case everyone forgets to click a link every day. Would anyone keep that page open so it could refresh?
I used to have a page that reloaded a random webpage every five minutes so my internet wouldn't time out. It would be pretty much the same idea.

It's all just for fun, I'm not really too concerned about the numbers and forget to visit the site daily as well. If someone wants to create a script or get a Firefox mod to do this for them they're more than welcome, just don't go overboard and get us banned.

It does not look good because I do not know how to associate style information to the XML file.

Visiting the city simply increases what ever link you clicked on. If you clicked the population link it increases the population. Unfortunately don't actually become a member of the city.

So I can't find a special woman and settle down in the burbs and make a family, get a dog and a ride on tractor?

Next person to click on population will bring it to 800.

Other than what you see on the page there is really nothing more to the site. Pretty basic.
