Hello,

i am new to the forums so if i may brake any of the forums laws please tell me.

My problem is: I have reinstalled recentley my outlook 2003 and as usual i have a shortcut buton in the quicklaunch barr. Befor reinstalling it when i pressed the shortcut i opened outlook and if i pressed it again i just got the same instance of outlook brought to front of the screen.

Now when i press the same buton i open a new instance of outlook. Is there any way that i set outlook not to open multiple instances? Just like excel in Tools/Options/General to uncheck the "ignore other programs" checkbox.

Thank you for your answer.

If, instead of clicking on the shortcut on your Quick Launch toolbar, you go to your Programs menu and select Outlook, does this create multiple instances of Outlook, same as from the Quick Launch toolbar?

I'd try this.  Uninstall Outlook.  Download and run CCleaner.  Reinstall Outlook.

Get the Slim version of CCleaner at http://www.ccleaner.com/download/builds  It's the same as the standard version except that it's English only and has no Yahoo! toolbar bundled with it.  For some info on using CCleaner, see http://www.jahewi.nl/ccleaner/folders/folders.html and http://www.jahewi.nl/ccleaner/issues/issues.html .  This info is a little out-of-date but is still pertinent.  The CCleaner menu button formerly called "Issues" is now called "Registry".  So, replace "Issues" with "Registry" when reading the content on second link above.
