I tried to turn on my windows 2000 computer and it tried to boot up, went to normal startup screen for a few seconds, then went to black page with one line of white type that said, Press F1 to re-boot, which it didn't, and press F2 for set up, which is in DOS format, but I didn't see anything there to change that might help. I tried restarting several times, no luck.  I have not used the computer in a while and there had been storms, I wonder if it got zapped or something.  Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

It sounds like you have a Master Boot Record problem, maybe from a virus hit or a Hard Drive problem.
You might need to reinstall your system and start from scratch by using the installation cd's.
