Uninstalling an antivirus or any other program should always be done through Add/Remove Programs or by using a free third party uninstaller like Revo Uninstaller. Only use the below methods if the add/remove programs method fails.

.
.
.
  • BitDefender Antivirus Removal Tool:
  • Download the BitDefender Uninstall Tool
First right-click on the red BitDefender icon near the system tray choose on Exit.
Wait a few seconds. Afterwards double-click on the BitDefender uninstall tool.
You will need to reboot your computer for the changes to take effect.

.
  • OPSWAT AppRemover - What is AppRemover? AppRemover enables you to thoroughly uninstall security applications such as antivirus and antispyware from your computer.
.
.
If you have any questions don't hesitate to ask in our forums.

Other security software removal tools - If you have any that are not listed please post it and I will update the list.

Mcafee's removal tool seems to be a broken link.

I found this though:

Kaspersky Anti-virus Removal Tool has been updated.  Now you can force the uninstall if it finds nothing.
