Thanks, however "Edit" function has been taken away, so I won't be able to update my list anymore :(

Christmas is a time when kids tell Santa what they want and adults pay for it. Deficits are when adults tell the government what they want - and their kids pay for it.

Has safari been added to iTunes? My mom has gotten Safari at least 3 times (after uninstalling of course), because of iTunes demanding she updates its software.

No, it hasn't. the apple updater tries to install it anyway though. (I think if you have safari and not itunes it will do the opposite).

Actually, I recall a blog post about this, but damned if I remember who wrote it...

it might have been this one although the font is more awful then I remember. Same idea in the text, though.

In the latest FireFox update there is also an Adobe Flash update installer....if the instructions from Mozilla are followed your Flash is indeed updated....and lo and behold MacAffee is installed...

I saw no opt out option.

I don't think, it's actually Mozilla fault.
When you go to Adobe Flash page and try to upgrade Flash from there, it'll force you to do the download through their download manager (no option to go around) and then, when you start installing Flash, there is pre-checked option to install McAfee Security Scan.
