I had made a post here but got moved to the spyware section and now they are out of ideas so they said I could post it here again and see if anyone else had any ideas as to what I could do. So instead of just posting it all out again I will just link you to the thread:
http://www.computerhope.com/forum/index.php/topic,68369.0.html

Any help is appreciated I am just at wits end here.

You posted this on Oct 14

I am having issues like crazy first off about 2 weeks ago
and this on Oct 15
Quote
Platform: Windows XP SP3 (WinNT 5.01.2600)

When did you install SP3 and did you have the problem prior to installing SP3?

I'm sure your hardware specs are buried somewhere in your 35 posts but can you run them past us again please?  Especially need to know the pc assembler and the processor manufacturer...

Re-reading your post on 14 October I'm a bit confused by the content.  Here's a quote from it:
Quote
Well when I went to open the folder and do the routine my cleaning & defragging it a popup came up and said were sorry IE needs to close (I use FireFox btw not IE) then it proceeds to ask me if I want to send an error report so I do and then my browser and everything closes but then comes back up in a few secs and whatever it was I was gonna do like Defrag is still up and ready for me to run.
You mention that "were sorry IE needs to close (I use FireFox btw not IE) then it proceeds to ask me if I want to send an error report so I do and then my browser and everything closes but then comes back up", did you have IE open when you are preparing to run a bit of maintenance such as Defrag?  I have this nagging doubt that the message was really that Explorer needs to close not Iexplore.  IExplore and Explorer are completely different.

What is SP3? If it has to do with windows XP it was there when I bought the computer. No I did not have IE open I don't open it at all and after looking at the popup again you are correct Explorer not Iexplorer my fault. Here is the actual popup:

As far as my computer specs remember I am computer dumb so you may need to guide me where to find all the info you need. The only thing I know for sure is I run Windows XP and the brand name of my computer is emachines.

That makes more sense..

To find out what your processor is click Start>Run and in the dialog box enter DXDIAG

Click the System tag and make a note of what is displayed alongside Processor: then Exit.   Post the info.

My immediate thought is that your system has an incompatible copy of SP3 (Service Pack #3) which has either been intentionally downloaded from the Internet and installed by the vendor or has been installed by the MS Update system.

Click Start>Control Panel> Add or Remove Programs.  Ensure that the Show Updates box is ticked (at the top of the page) and when the page has been populated scroll down to Windows XP Service Pack 3, the install date may or may not be shown in the RH column.  If it is shown post the date.

Read this carefully.  It might be that the best advice will be to uninstall SP3.  This could have unintentional bad affects on your operating system and as you do not have an XP install cd you may not be able to recover.  The decision will obviously be yours to make.  Meantime you should ensure that all your critical data files (photos, tax files etc.) have been backed up.

Perhaps another member will chip in with better advice than I can give.

Whats a system tag?

The only thing that comes up after I click Start>Run and in the dialog box enter DXDIAG  this comes up

Then when I click no(thinking it wouldn't do anything) this box came up

That's good enough.

You have an AMD processor which is notorious for causing problems when SP.3 is installed without your system first being patched, though the problems you are experiencing have not been reported.  I'll do some on-line research and get back to you.

Meantime perhaps you'd like to familiarise yourself with some of the SP.3/AMD processor problems here really just to prove my 'first thought' might not have been bulldust.

Hang in there - will get back to you with a possible fix asap.

Edit:  Sorry, I need another bit of info.  Go to Add or Remove Programs as explained previously and check for Windows update KB953356 and its install date if it's on the list..  The updates may not be in alpha sequence so search for the KB number.

The only KB numbers there all start with either 92 or 93 but no 95's

EDIT: Ok when I try to go back into the add/remove it won't let me I click on it and click on it and it won't open up. I even tried to close it out and then bring the control panal back up and try again nothing. and I had the windows explorer popup error come up. Well I am going to restart the computer to see if it will work then.

DBL EDIT: Ok so I restarted the computer and the add/remove programs come up now but one thing I noticed I went to look at when the SP3 was installed and there is no date for it. Also another thing idk if I am just being paranoid or just actually noticing things more but whatever it is it seems to be getting worse by me just closing out the add/remove programs half the page disappeared but came back up and the windows error came up again. It seems to be happening more and more.

Sorry, I have been advised that the problems you are experiencing are NOT associated with SP.3 and an AMD processor so my 'immediate thought' cannot be considered.

If the problem existed on my pc I would, without doubt, uninstall SP3 and take any consequences, but I have XP install disks available and can do a reinstall or system repair without difficulty.  As you do not have a disk available I cannot advise you to delete anything.

When the Explorer error occurs are any dump (.dmp) files generated?  One possible way of finding out what is causing the error is to review a dump file.  If you have any .dmp files associated with the error condition please post them.

Regrettably I cannot advise you further and hope that someone else picks up the thread and can resolve your problems.

Best of luck.

It doesn't say it is dumping any files.

Downloading a Windows operating system is not advised as it can't be done legally (to the best of my knowledge).  A better idea would be to contact eMachines and request a restoration disc for the PC that included the OS.
