Virus (speed monitor?) Help? having trouble, HiJackThis log:

Hi, I've been googling stuff to try and get rid of this virus for about a week, when I first got the virus. I don't really know how I got the virus, all i know is that it is slowly taking over my computer my slowing it down, and at times, making my desktop go completely blank. I'm not completely computer clueless, but I just cant figure this one out on my own. I found a link to a post here, about the same problems, but a completely diffirnt HiJackThis log.

Just taking a quick glance shows me that you've got a few infections on your computer.  A HijackThis log is a good start, but we're going to need more than just that.  Please follow all of the instructions in this thread:

When you've gone through that, post the SUPERAntiSpyware and Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware logs.  Then, download ComboFix and save it to your desktop.  Run the program and read its disclaimer (it's fairly short) and make sure you really pay attention to what it says.  Follow the prompts and when finished, it will produce a log at C:\ComboFix.txt.  Go ahead and post that here as well.  Note: Don't click on the window while it's running; this may cause stalls.

After you've run those three scans, run HijackThis and post the new log here.  If you follow all of the steps in that order, it will clear out most of the junk on your computer and will make the task a lot easier.

I did everything on the first link, up until the SUPERantispyware program, it did a 3 hour long scan, found 101 warnings, and then i followed instructions and did the quarantine everything, and it basically screwed my computer, i dont have internet access on it anymore, and i dont even have a desktop icons, or the start menu, i have to use task manager to open things. I know that its not really your fualt, as it was not your guide, but is there any way that you can help me, or find someone to help me fix this, i am currently on a different computer. i cant really get the log either so :/

i googled a bunch of ways to fix it, so far all have failed, even starting up in safe mode.
i having some important files that i would like to keep, but if i have to reformat my harddrive that would really suck.

UPDATE-
so far ive tried rebooting, and starting with last known good configuration-didnt work
tried looking for control panel to look for desktop icons, cant even find control panel

2nd Update-
the only way i found to fix this was to repair the quarantined items, so i did, and im going to need help, because the SUPERaintspywar option isnt really gonna work

Hi there.  Sorry for the late response; I haven't been able to access the forums the last couple of days because of database updates (I've been online at all of the wrong times).  I'm sorry to hear about SUPERAntiSpyware causing so much trouble.  In all honesty, I have never heard of it doing such a thing.  With all of my experience using SAS, I'm going to have to assume that it wasn't necessarily the program's fault.  It was likely caused by an attempted removal of the Wareout infection, which I believe is on your computer.  Now that your computer seems to be working again (more or less), do you think you can find the SAS log and post it?  It may give me some valuable insight.  I'd like to have a better idea of EXACTLY what we're up against before I have you try any other fixes.

I will have you do a couple of things in the meantime, however.  Please download FixWareout from this link:

Save it to your desktop and run it.
Click "Next", then Install, make sure "Run fixit" is checked and click Finish.
The fix will begin: Please follow the prompts.

Your system may take longer than usual to load and this is normal.

It should save a log file called report.txt; please post the contents here along with a new HijackThis log and the SAS log if you can get it.

ok, ill try that. While i was waiting i went on the SAS forums, and posted my problem, and the first thing they notic was i was an an old model, so i updated, and i wll be running a scam tonight, as i took nearly three hours, then i will run  the program you gave me, and then hijack this, then, finally lol, malwaresbytes scan, and i will post all the logs here as soon s possible, im hoping tomorrow night at the latest, but well have to see. Thanks for all the help with this, i think its really nice to have basically a complete stranger hel me fix my computer, through this long process, (even reading through all my long, ongoing, rambling posts)

Okay, things are looking quite a bit better now.  You've still got a few things lurking around, though, so I'm going to have you try one more thing before getting into the manual removal steps (these scans make that part a lot easier for both of us)...


Download ComboFix by sUBs to your Desktop.

**Note:  It is important that ComboFix is saved directly to your Desktop

Temporarily disable your antivirus, and any antispyware real time protection before performing a scan. Click this link to see a list of security programs that should be disabled and how to disable them.

Close any open Web browsers. (Firefox, Internet Explorer, etc) before starting ComboFix.

Double click on ComboFix.exe & follow the prompts.

As part of it's process, ComboFix will check to see if the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console is installed. It is strongly recommended to have this pre-installed on your machine before doing any malware removal should your computer have a problem during the procedure.

** If the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console is already installed, ComboFix will continue it's normal malware removal procedures and you will not see the Recovery Console Query.

Follow the prompts to allow ComboFix to download and install the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console. When prompted, agree to the End-User License Agreement to install the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console.



Once the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console is installed using ComboFix, you should see the following message:



Click on Yes to continue scanning for malware.

When finished ComboFix will produce a log for you in C:\combofix.txt
Post the ComboFix log and a new HijackThis log in your next reply.

Important: Do not mouseclick ComboFix's window while it is running. That may cause it to stall.

Remember to re-enable your antivirus and antispyware protection when ComboFix is complete.

Okay, ComboFix didn't remove everything, so we're going to instruct it to do so...

Note: the below instructions were created specifically for this user. If you are not this user, DO NOT follow these directions as they could damage the workings of your system

1. Go to Start > Run > type Notepad.exe and click OK to open Notepad.
It must be Notepad, not Wordpad.

3. Go to the Notepad window and click Edit > Paste
4. Then click File > Save
5. Name the file CFScript.txt - Save the file to your Desktop
6. Then drag the CFScript (hold the left mouse button while dragging the file) and drop it (release the left mouse button) into ComboFix.exe as you see in the screenshot below. Important: Perform this instruction carefully!



ComboFix will begin to execute, just follow the prompts.
After reboot (in case it asks to reboot), it will produce a log for you.
Post that log (Combofix.txt) in your next reply.

Note: Do not mouseclick ComboFix's window while it is running. That may cause your system to freeze


Also post one more HijackThis log.  I know this all seems a bit repetetive, but we're almost done.  If ComboFix does its job, then we should only have to worry about a little bit of sweeping up.  I expect you to have a clean computer before the weekend is over.

Alrighty, ComboFix was mostly successful.  It either had trouble deleting one of the files or the file is still showing up in your registry (hopefully the latter).  In any case, go ahead and follow these steps...

Once we start, you won't have access to this post anymore, so I recommend that you print out this post or save it to a Notepad file.  Open HijackThis and scan again.  Check the following entries, but don't do anything to them yet...

Now, close all windows (including this one) besides HijackThis, then click Fix Checked.  Close HijackThis and reboot into Safe Mode and enable hidden files and folders.

Navigate to and delete the following file(s) if present...

C:\WINDOWS\e9b70.dll

Once you've done all of this, reboot into Normal Mode and post a new HijackThis log so we can see if there's any other junk we need to clean up.  Let me know how everything's running now and if you had any problems following my steps.

I did everything even the registry fixing thingy, up until the safe mode. When i rebooted, and tried to go into safe mode (when your first booting and it looks all black background with all the basic info), it just spat out about a screenfull of data, and i didnt have time to look at it, so, i dont really know what to do, any hints?

What happened after this "screen full of data" showed up?  Did the computer restart?  Did it freeze?  When booting into Safe Mode, the computer will display a large list of various drivers and files in white text on a black screen.  During this process, the computer will sometimes pause for a minute and appear as if it has frozen.  If this is what's happening to you, try waiting a few minutes and see what happens.  If you think it's something else, then you can try pressing the Pause Break key on your keyboard, which will sometimes freeze the screen in place, allowing you to read what's being displayed.

If you're still having trouble getting into Safe Mode, you can try deleting that file with Pocket KillBox...

But only delete C:\WINDOWS\e9b70.dll and nothing else!  You can simply copy and paste that bold text into the program.  This is a very powerful little program and you don't want to misuse it.

i downloaded pocket killbox and tried to delete the file, but it says it doesnt no exist, so i think thats a good thing, ill try to get into safe mode again lader today, and just leave it there, but ive never had that safe mode problem before.
