Wow - not sure how some of you have time to breath!!!

I have two - but only one as currently allowed.  Purely a means to trans Atlantic vid communicate with an old buddy.  Not sure I'd have time and patience for more but then - I am an old geezer!

off topic- but

Does anybody else "appear offline" a lot of the time to dodge... chattersons? You know, the ones that will waste time going on and on about stuff when all you want to do is go to bed and sleep, and will pause to make sure you're really listening, for you to respond- ugh, it's like having another girlfriend or something...

I often stay offline or invisible until someone I actually want to talk to comes on.  I sometimes still stay invisible whilst talking to people - I can't deal with multiple active conversations at all.
I can talk to about 4 people at once at the very most, if they're not too demanding.  I don't IM a lot anyway really.

I have about 15 contacts in Yahoo Messenger but they were mainly set up for PC-to-phone calls, not IM.  I rarely IM; I've probably only used IM with two or three people in the last two years.  And, some of the phone contacts were only one-time occurrences, so I could really delete some of my contacts.

I'm not a big "Appear Offline" fan unless I just need to talk to one person and dont plan on staying on very long at all... thus avoiding "g2g" on multiple conversations...

I do often set my status to Busy or Away though, especially when I have a headache.

maybe its because i'm a teenager or something but out of 70 contacts on msn normally about 7 are online at any one time , and if 7 are online normally i talk to 4 of them.

but i say that, normally I pile them all into one window and just have a big confrence conversation, saves alt-tabbing...

out of 70 contacts maybe i talk to 25 or so regularly?

I only have a few.  It's amazing to me how people can get work done with so many messengers.  Everytime I'm on, someone sends me a message and I never get anything done.

Good idea - bad idea!
