When you join a site, you enter your address and password and in some cases check the 'remember me' box so that each time you re-join, you don't have to re-type this.
Where is this information stored, because each time l run programs to clear out junk files, l have to re-type this info again.
Can't be cookies, as these are unchecked in my clear up programs.
It's not life threatening, but l'm just curious!

The actual passwords, we can not help you determine.

Cookies do store passwords quite often, and the other thing is "Authenticated sessions"

These things should be cleared out every so often, since they can often build up, and make your Internet browser run slower.

BTW: Great computer cleaning out program, and the only one people should ever use:
Ccleaner
Available at www.ccleaner.com for free download

Thanks for the speedy reply Zylstra.
Yep, l use CCleaner and Easy Cleaner by Toniarts. In CCleaner, l leave cookies and autocomplete form history boxes blank so l was wondering why my details are still deleted. I do have the index.dat files box checked, so could it be stored there?
The mystery continues!

Must be Easy Cleaner because I have my CCleaner set to not remove Cookies and it doesn't remove my log-ins.

I wonder if they have Firefox, and they are selecting the options to not remove things from Internet Explorer...
FireFox is located under the "Application" tab, under FireFox, not "System" under Internet Explorer

True. I use FF mostly. IE tends to "forget" no matter what I do...
