For my education:
I recently happen to notice as the BIOS messages "flashed by" on start-up, the line.
"Primary IDE channel no 80 conductor cable installed"
This is TRUE my data cables to the hard drives are the "old" gray 40 conductor version. BUT where did this line come from

Back when the Win98SE BIOS was written I don't think 80 conductor cables existed. This is no "big deal" I am just curious, has Microsoft been updating my BIOS all these years ??
