I use AVG and have had no probelms with it.  I used to have Norton but got annoyed at paying for a years updates, then only had about four month's worth as they rewrote the program, also found it to take up a lot of resources.

BTW, I think, we've been doing pretty good job here, since Norton, and McAfee combined add up to 31% only.

I was a die-hard Norton user in the early years of this century, until it became such a bloated resource hog. I went to AVG for a while, and don't remember what the issue was that made me move on, except that I seem to remember they wanted money for complete protection, or something. Since loading up Avast! I have become an avid fan! I have installed it on several friends' computers, and none of us has had any virus problems for more than 18 months since starting with it. It covers all kinds of threats, and I use only the free homeowner version. Not a resource drain either. ;D

The AVG site is not very clear on which version you are DLoading and they kind of hide the actual Free version...so what happens is most just clik the link for the paid trial and then start getting asked for cabbage 30 days later...

I have always, until now used McAfee and I have found this software to be dependable. however, I am aiming to change to Kaplinski later this year primarily because my bank is offering it for free. This has been made all the more certain because I can buy McAfee in computer stores for around £25-£30 and they want to charge me aropund £45.......so much for loyalty!!!!

Correct. Modified the poll to help prevent any confusion.
