Do you think I should have done his homework for him?
Why not just tell him to search this site?Go to the top and find the box for this site and entercolor in DOS...and get lots of answers to the question. If he can not pay attention in class, he should at least learn how to do research.
How do we know a question is homework?
I'm currently enrolled in a CIT class.we are learning Dos and command line.A challenge was presented to us (to issue the directory command for \windowsdirectory, to display only .EXE files in wide format without changing directories.
We try not to help with homework. If this is what you are after, please at least be honest and don't try to hide the purpose for the question. Honesty sometimes gets results!
CD \WINDOWSDIR *.EXE

Giving a person the answer to something like this isn't helping them.
The original person will do much better on the test. The original person now knows the answer.
