It makes it impossible to finish any. Everytime I shut-down my computer it seems to start over.  I am using the Windows XP/2003/Vista/2008 SMP client console version that uses the MPICH.  Its really annoying then when I leave my ocmputer on my parents turn it off anyways so no matter what they wont finish!!! Its getting pretty annoying. >:( >:(

You're right. Sorry I'm obviously needing to go to sleep 6:11AM :)

Ok did some additional search and found it could be due to how you're exiting the client. When closing the F@H SMP try pressing CTRL + C instead of just closing or shutting down. I guess if shutdown improperly it will not close the work packet correctly causing it to have to restart.

I thought it might have something to do with this. I better tell my parents not to turn off my computer no matter what

For anyone using the GUI client, right-clicking the systray icon and selecting Pause work before shutting down will also prevent this from happening.

Or, set the checkpoint interval during setup.  I believe the default is 15 minutes, so you'll lose that at most...I set mine to 3, so I only ever lose 3 minutes of work maximum.
