Computer Hope 1 1 1
« on: March 31, 2009, 02:28:11 PM »

For the month of April we thought it would be interesting to see how many USB devices you have connected to your computer. Feel free to not only mention how many USB devices you have but talk about what each device is, how they're attached to the computers, how many hubs you're using, etc.

All past monthly polls and results can also be found on the Computer Hope poll page.

Nice computer setup JJ 3000 for having six available USB ports.

I'm using a USB hub mainly because my computer is far away from the main system with seven USB peripherals connected to the computer.

Nice profile picture btw.  That's my Cat! :)

ATM I have a Intellimouse Explorer 3 in one of my USB 1.1 ports, a Logitech Rumblepad 2, and a USB hub, which ATM is connected to my External hard drive, my printer, my MP3 player cord (so I don't lose it :P) and my Digital camera's cord, leaving 2 free slots that I use for my flash drives as needed. The hub is actually a Hub/Card reader combo.

I voted 3, but it really depends.
My mouse and keyboard are USB, I also have an internal USB card reader with a USB port, plus two front USB ports connected internally which I didn't count.
Sometimes a printer and one or more flash drives are connected, sometimes my MP3 player, sometimes my phone ... it really depends what I'm doing.

I voted four, more or less the norm for my main computer, a mid-tower PC.  This consists of an external hard drive, UPS cord, mouse, and printer.  So, the number is higher anytime I use other devices I own (MP3 player, several flash drives, digital camera {directly, or via card reader}, and webcam).  I don't need a hub, since I never need to have so many devices connected at one time that they exceed the number of USB ports on the computer.

With my notebook PC, I use wireless mouse that uses a USB receiver.  Sometimes,  I use a USB keypad with it and, of course, sometimes connect a flash drive.  Actually, the keypad can function as a two-port USB hub but it works at USB 1.0 speed as a hub.
