Hmm... What if all messages were sent to the recipient in a private message, and a notice was then sent to the recipient in the channel saying that they have messages?

Would that cover all the eventualities?
If so, then that would be much nicer.

And for reminders everyone should PM TuxReminder for those so that they don't clutter the chat channel.

Smiley   You can try with  "should",  but be prepared to simply disable public commands, such that using /msg is necessary.      It would probably be best and simplest to just skip this step, and go right to  /msg only.

Thanks

I'll have to try that out when I can.  Not sure how you came up with the idea and not me but nice work.

I have another suggestion for TuxReminder.
Is it possible to include a time or date stamp on messages?
I just think that might help if the reminder is not very clear, the time the reminder was posted would help to ID it.

Tux2 could you please make Tuxreminder send any reminders through a notice instead of publicly displaying reminders in the #computerhope channel. This should keep the #computerhope channel clean and if need be keep the reminders more private.

Thanks

To both of you, sure, as soon as I have enough time on my hands to do that it will happen.  (I seem to be running short on time right now...) Should be within 3 days however.

TuxReminder isn't in the user list on #computerhope, so how will it work?

Okay.  I have done a few minor enhancements to TuxReminder that I think everyone will appreciate.  One of them is that all those confirmation messages that TuxReminder puts out are now sent to the user in a notice.  Another thing is that all "remind me in" messages now get PM'ed to you instead of landing in the main Computerhope chat room.  Hopefully these things will help keep the chat room clean.
