He's playing a game called IRL. Great graphics, *censored* gameplay.
Two of the things keeping me from even trying it...I'd like to see a little more exposure...before I even think about giving it a test drive.Just thought some of you might want to read about it.
Now let me get this.If I have a cloud computer;1. I do not need applications, thee are in the cloud.2. I do not store date on my local machine, it is in the cloud.3. My OS could be just embedded XP.4. There is no place on my PC where a virus could live.5. So they will not charge me anything... for scanning a machine ... that could not have anything!Read More: http://www.computerhope.com/forum/index.php/topic,82499.msg546150.html#msg546150
Sorry...didn't see that previous thread...thanks for listing it.
Also I hear M$ is gonna ditch windows live onecare (the paid antivirus and computer optimizer app it offers now) and roll out a free antivirus solution by next year. Is that gonna be good?
Yeah...maybe after the BETA...but if you think about it...everyone who uses panda is connected...if some virus specifically targets panda users, as long as one person gets it, they all can...
I can't offer comment on its efficiency as beyond a copy of the eicar test virus I have nothing to check it with. Being a "cloud" program you need to be online during the scan to really benefit from the latest data, though it does store a local cache copy of Collective Intelligence for offline operation. So what's wrong with it ? it's incredibly basic a green indicator to show if everything's OK, a manual scan command button and that's pretty much it, no scheduler and no indication as to age of the Cache Copy. There is also no indication that it monitors email and the FAQ page isn't illuminating. So at the moment I'd class it as an interesting concept, but unless you like playing with Beta security probably best to stick with one of the established players for the moment.
