Curious as to which tools people prefer for malware/adware detection & removal. Please also feel free to list any that are good etc and why they are good if not listed in this poll options.

BTW, Malware Defender 2009 is a rogue tool, so it should be removed from the list. I hope you didn't list the ones you have installed....if you did, remove Malware Defender now!

superantispyware has fixed problems before on my pc where malwarebytes did not do it but that doesn't mean malwarebyte is crappy. So as much as I like to give both a thumbs up because they're all doing good jobs, I have to give an edge to superantispyware for the poll purposes.

Malwarebytes' is probably the best, but SAS is also good. But, manual removal is unbeatable. ;D

Also to note, Malwarebyte and SAS are on CH's list of recommended antimalware/antispyware programs!!! ;D

Malware Defender 2009, I havent used... I have used MalwareBytes and Spybot and generally what one doesnt clean the other will, but have had better luck with malwarebytes vs Spybot S&D

Suppose I coudl have also added adaware to the list, but I rarely ever used their solution.

Malware Defender 2009 I saw in a google search and figured I'd add it in the list to see if anyone was using it.

Someone told me that SAS was the best.  I used it on a badly infected computer like 4 times.  Then I got mbam and that found so much that sas didnt.  I think mbam finds a lot more too

Surprised that no one picked Spybot S & D. so far... I kind of stopped using that when the definitions at times had bad checksums like there was issues controlling them from being tainted on the mirrors..lol

Spybot used to be good but now it's not as effective as some of the other programs like SAS and MBAM.  People still put trust in it but the others are more comprehensive IMO.

I had a registry fix I needed to do, my computer caught a malware, got rid of it but was told to use either MBAM or SAS to fix, only SAS actually removed it at that time. But MBAM has done well other times I needed it.

Spybot S&D is a good tool and yes i am actually surprised that no one vote with it  :'( but in my opinion MBAM SAS and Spybot are the best team in malware removal! ;)
And all the programs you put in that poll are good in their way .

yeah except that one but I have a question in some Malware Removal sites in their removal guide i saw that Hijack this was replaced by OTListIt
Quote
ijackThis has not been regularly updated. Many infections are now able to hide partly, or completely from a HijackThis scan. OTL is authored by one of our staff members (OldTimer). It includes all the scan locations of HijackThis and more. It's not only a more comprehensive scan tool, but also offers more powerful removal features.
but still it is used even in that site it is some kinda confusing because we must learn how to read logs in HJT but in their malware removal guide they tell us that it has been replaced by OTL  :-\.
It is kinda confusing.

I know I'll take some flack on this one, but I've been using Stopzilla for the past six months and it's one of the best programs I've used.....Nothing seems  to get by it.....customer support is the best I've ever used, within minutes of an email there's a response......I downloaded the latest version and I think it performed well against the Spycar Suite, but I don't know whether I used the suite correctly...

Kpac , perhaps you can run Spycar on Stopzilla and share your findings.....I found it worked well, but I'm not sure I did things right.

autoruns is my favourite Hijackthis-equivalent.

It has some stuff HJT doesn't have.
