Has anyone seen a server 2003 adminpak that works with vista yet? The only one I can find is 2003 or xp only.

Not even looked for one.  I avoid Vista like the plague.  ;)

people avoided tomatoes for years. Until some brave soul tried eating them. "OMG! They aren't poison!" he proclaimed.

the lack of an adminpak for vista is the only thing keeping me from it. Otherwise, I like vista......

I just searched the TechNet archives and did not spot one...
There is one available for Server2008 however...
Whether it works on Vista i cannot say...

I have the adminpak installed on my XP machine and still I always RDP onto our servers, to do anything...

I'm still not quite ready to make the switch to server 08, though. Not enough time to dedicate to testing and then for deployment. Hopefully sometime this year it will happen though.

I've thought about that, but I like having everything local.
I did find a workaround on technet for getting adminpak on vista. http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/930056 I haven't read through the whole thing yet to see how difficult it is, however.

RSAT, or "Remote Server Administration Tools":

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=9FF6E897-23CE-4A36-B7FC-D52065DE9960&displaylang=en

If your Vista already has SP2 installed, then RSAT won't install without a workaround.

Part of the problem is most people don't generally deal with computer problems. So for most they think that close enough is good enough.
