Hi to everyone. I finally took the plunge and decided to build a gaming pc.
My first question is about HD set up. Is it feasible/desirable to place the OS on a small, fast(80-100GB) HD and then put games, programs, data etc on separate, larger HDs? My objective is to isolate the os from the programs and data so that if I need to ever reinstall the os I won't have to reinstall all the games and programs.
I guess the alternative is to make an image of the c drive and store it elsewhere for reinstall if needed.

You can make a image of C drive and then reinstall it, yes. But to reinstall windows from scratch, you have to reinstall most of the programs anyway cuz of the registry.

Thanks for the answers.
So a cloned image would reinstall the os and the registry entries as well as any programs?

Very nice BC.

Don't worry about it. If it's not good at stock, then it's not good.
